ME: NOM's electoral wounds get dash of salt

Portland Press Herald:

AUGUSTA — The Maine ethics commission voted unanimously today to fine the National Organization for Marriage $2,000 for missing a campaign finance reporting deadline in the final weeks leading up to the vote on gay marriage.

By law, NOM was required to file its 11-day pre-general election report by midnight Oct. 26. The group filed the following day, missing the deadline by 14 hours
