NOM pushes tiny, ideologically-driven, anti-LGBT org; pretends it's counterpoint to actual science
The American College of Pediatricians is a silly little outfit. It is a tiny (between 60–200 members), ideologically-driven splinter organization that was created by the far-right and given a purposely innocuous name for the sole purpose of confusing the credible data put out by the 60,000+ member American Academy of Pediatrics. This, an organization that aggressively promotes "ex-gay" junk science, is the same American College of Pediatricians that National Institute of Health Director Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D smacked down after he discovered that they were twisting his work. This organization has zero credibility. Less than zero, in fact, considering how far they've taken their lies and how much they've been called out by actual scientists.
But in the National Organization For Marriage's world, this anti-LGBT political group is just another scientific group with a dissenting perspective:
And that's exactly the point. The average NOM reader will never research what the ACPEDS is all about. Most people will hear the benign name and think it's just another group—one that is completely fit to rival the genuinely science-driven AAP. The ACPEDS set it up this way and NOM is fostering the ruse.
And they do all this in the name of moral values.
