Jason Collins becomes first out gay man actively playing big-four American sport

by Jeremy Hooper

Screen Shot 2013-04-29 At 11.23.10 AmIn an article for Sports Illustrated, NBA player Jason Collins, who currently plays center for the Washington Wizards, has come out as gay:

So that history's now been made. Seems like we're crossing off another milestone on a daily hourly basis.

And Collins currently plays in an area (D.C.) where he can legally marry, too. That's one way to get me to a game: wedding cake.

*Note: Collins is a free agent so may not be in D.C. too much longer. Fortunately, with our marriage states growing in number, the odds of him landing in another marriage state are pretty good.
