Reuters: Boys Scouts on track to end gay ban (***UPDATED)

This just in:

(Reuters) - The Boy Scouts of America called to end a long-standing ban on openly gay members, a spokesman said on Friday, but the organization's board must still vote in May on whether to ratify the resolution.

**BUT wait a minute: David Crary from the AP is reporting that the new proposal would only apply to youth

Under pressure over its longstanding ban on gays, the Boys Scouts of America is proposing to lift the ban for youth members but continue to exclude gays as adult leaders.

Not sure what to make of this. So basically you can be deeply and passionately involved in scouting until your sexual orientation ages you out?!
