Activist seeks special protection for flux sexuality that science doesn't recognize

by Jeremy Hooper

"Ex-homosexual" is not an orientation, obviously. However, truth doesn't stop this movement from pushing lawmakers to recognize the self-determined classification as a viable minority:

Doug McIntyre heads Acceptance Fellowship Ministries and Homosexuals Anonymous, and he is heading to Washington, D.C. on July 31 to speak in favor of people who have left the homosexual lifestyle. The group plans to visit senators and representatives, and demand equal rights as ex-homosexuals.

“Formerly gay people, if we say something we can be heckled, we can be hurt…” says McIntyre. “But we have no special protection.”
[ONN]

Not one credible LGBT activists wants to see a self-identified "former homosexual" harmed in any way. And fortunately for the movement that keeps trying to make "ex-gay" happen, these men and women who have "left the lifestyle" will be protected by laws that prevent discrimination on the basis of the valid sexual orientation spectrum. They fall within that spectrum too.
