We the papal, in order to unform more perfectly loving unions…

Because it takes a pontifical village to keep the Catholic leadership's priorities misguided and unfocused, the former Pope and the current Pope are collaborating on a new document recommitting the church's teachings and resources to the cause of civil discrimination:

Popes Collaborate on New Text That Reiterates Catholic Church's Opposition to Gay Marriage [Towle]

Of course we know that Catholics actually support marriage equality even more than the public at large, even as the leadership continues to lead the religious charge against us. The leadership surely hopes it can convert its members into advocates against us. I'd argue that they are instead more likely to convert advocates for equality (and especially younger advocates for equality) into non-members.
