FRC prayer targets: LGBT rights = 'moral confusion'; Hawaii marriage equality advocates = 'forces of darkness'
From the latest round of Family Research Council "prayer targets":
Since 1991, America has continued to defend the practice of abortion and has expanded its transgressions: legalizing homosexuality and other sexual aberrations; defiling the sacred institution of marriage; even rewarding same-sex partners with taxpayer funded spousal benefits. Parts of the U.S. military have been co-opted by the homosexual agenda, and are punishing Christian servicemen who voice their religious beliefs on the matter. With such moral confusion, is it any wonder that Christians still ask whether God will go with our armies?
Hawaii Same-Sex "Marriage" Effort - It was concern about an effort in Hawaii to legalize same-sex "marriage" that motivated Congress in 1996 to pass the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Providentially, the Church in Hawaii arose and stopped the island effort, but DOMA passed, giving states some sense of security that such a legal aberration would not be forced on them. Despite having a new law providing for civil unions there, Governor Neil Abercrombie has called for a special Legislative Session for a vote to legalize same-sex "marriage" in Hawaii (see Story).
May God stir the Hawaiian Church to act yet again and to prevail over the forces of darkness! (2 Kg 13:15-19; 2 Cor 10:3-6; Gal 6:9; Eph 5:11-18; 2 Th 3:13).

It remains to be seen whether God will militarize the church against his creations who happen to have been created LGBT. It seems making the case for war is the political conversation of this late summer/early fall.
