Video: Sen. Rubio keynotes for rabidly anti-LGBT org; org. advocates 'leaving the gay lifestyle'

by Jeremy Hooper

The Florida Family Policy Council, headed up by the aggressively anti-LGBT John Stemberger (the man who fought inclusive Boy Scouts on the national level and launched the new discriminatory Boy Scouts alternative), is the group behind every last anti-LGBT policy push to come to the Sunshine State in the past many years. FFPC is the org. that led the charge to ban marriage equality back in 2008, as well as the org. that led high profile fights to preserve Florida's ban on gay adoption. In short: This organization is against us in every way.

Now here's GOP U.S. Senator Marco Rubio catering to this same group:

*MORE from the AP:

Videos shown before and after Rubio spoke showed its president, John Stemberger, speaking against gay marriage, gay scout masters and allowing people who have had sex changes to teach in schools.

This is the same Florida Family Policy Council that runs an very extensive, deeply offensive, wholly science-rejecting resource page telling gay people that we must "leave the lifestyle":

["Leaving the Gay Lifestyle"]

Seems to me that Senator Rubio is trying to leave the "viable presidential candidate lifestyle."
