What is 'CanaVox'?

by Jeremy Hooper

Doug Mainwaring, the professional "ex-gay" who has testified against several state marriage bills, written numerous commentaries denouncing equal marriage rights for same-sex couples, filed an amicus brief in support of Prop 8, and has signed up as a poster boy for many National Organization For Marriage causes (including speaking at last March's so-called "march for marriage"), is apparently launching a new project with Robert George's Witherspoon Institute. At the end of Mainwaring's latest, yet another commentary in which he tells gay people that they should pretend to be straight or remain celibate, this is the bio line:

As of now, there is a domain name at Canavox.org, which is registered by the Witherspoon Institute, but there is no content.

Is this their new attempt now that the Regnerus study (which Witherspoon had a major hand in crafting) has pretty much failed? Are they done telling America that we ruin kids and moving on to full blown assault against our sexual orientations themselves? "Cana" is a biblical allegory for transformation and "vox" means voice, so this would be a name I could see them choosing for an "ex-gay" effort. Is this really the next phase for a movement that's desperate for some sort of momentum?!
