Bryan Fischer's a big fan of The Advocate's person of the year

by Jeremy Hooper

I can't even disagree with Bryan here. Pope Francis, who both The Advocate and The New Yorker's Richard Socarides chose as an LGBT person of the year (or "hero," as Socarides frames it), has in fact said all of these things:

Call me less provocative if you must, but when a man who has quite literally called for gays to be criminalized, rounded up, and treated like drug addicts applauds a certain person for his or her LGBT rights views, I'm going to think twice before I throw laurels at said person's feet.
