Mat Staver 'deeply saddened' California can still recognize and ban junk 'therapy'

by Jeremy Hooper

Artworks-000082004591-Z5Ufuw-T500X500 Tellingly mentioning Jerry Sandusky, as he and his pals have been wont to do in order to convince America that straight-identified pedophiles are what make people gay, Liberty Counsel attorney Mat Staver is defiantly angry at the Supreme Court for rejecting his challenge to California's landmark ban on "ex-gay" therapy:

I am deeply saddened for the families we represent and for the thousands of children that our professional clients counsel, many of whom developed these unwanted attractions because of abuse of a pedophile. The minors we represent do not want to act on same-sex attractions, nor do they want to engage in such behavior. They are greatly benefiting from this counseling. Their grades have gone up, their self-esteem has improved, and their relationships at home are much improved,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. “These children have been victimized twice – first by the likes of Jerry Sandusky, and second by legislators and judges who have essentially barged into their private therapy rooms and told them that they must pursue their unwanted and dangerous same-sex sexual attractions and behavior,” said Staver.

“I can assure you the battle over change therapy is far from over. We will be back
."
FULL: Supreme Court Passes on Change Therapy Ban [Liberty Counsel]

Well, Mat's right that the battle over "change therapy" is far from over, but he's wrong about which way it will go. Even Republican governors like Chris Christie are jumping in to ban this scientifically-discredited practice, and even this conservative court wants nothing to do a case challenging those bans. The idea of "changeable" sexual orientation has no credible support, and there's no reason why it ever should or will. Oh, and we have more and more former "ex-gay" superstars coming out very day and repudiating their past actions (even more on that soon in the days to come!).

So keep coming back, year after year, Mat, if you want to make your resources ex-plentiful and your calendar ex-open. It won't change anything (or anyone).
