BYU protects the sanctity of pre-printed greetings

Gay Marriage Card

After some same-sex wedding cards were accidentally stocked in an on-campus bookstore (which contracts with gay-friendly Hallmark), the intensely Mormon Brigham Young University stepped in and removed the "offending" items before anyone could lick any of their back flaps:

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Greeting cards celebrating same-sex marriages turned up at the Brigham Young University bookstore Tuesday.

Because you wouldn't want a place of higher education more accurately representing our society and its truth or anything. Out of sight; out of mind. Bubble protected for another day. Take that, reality!

No word on whether the administration held a public bonfire to make an example of the love-honoring cards. But whatever action they took, it will do nothing to change the fact that a portion of the school's population is, has always been, and will always be gay (whether closeted or not).
