...However, the reality of the situation is that while it certain was done as a way of de-stigmatizing homosexuality, the term wasn't adopted out of cold, calculate deception -- it was adopted as a righteous way to fight the cruel and unjust treatment that had up to that point plagued (and still to this day plagues) a vibrant sect of the population!
