Randy Thomasson is simply a genius
Randy Thomason, Executive Director of Campaign for California Families, released a lovely statement in regards to yesterday's ruling. For the most part, his missive spouts the same ol' "crazy ruling by an arrogant San Francisco judge" and "attack on families" rhetoric, currently being barked by all of the usual hate-mongers. But Thomason then takes discrimination justification to another level, saying that California gays don't even need this ruling since they are already free to marry. He says:
"Contrary to the judge's twisted legal logic, this is not an equal protection case. Every adult Californian already has equal access to marriage as provided by law, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Instead, this actually is the establishment of a completely new privilege that never existed before."
Well bloody hell, why didn't we think of that? Sham, loveless marriages for EVERYONE!
