California anti-gay squad back in action
Randy Thomasson and his 'mo marriage-fearing cronies at California Campaign for Children and Families, have filed a proposed amendment to the California state Constitution that would ban gay marriage, strip domestic partners of most benefits, and generally piss off a ton of progressive-minded residents of the Golden State.
The so-called "Voter's Right to Protect Marriage Initiative" requires those who don't wanna see Bob and Jerry walk down an aisle to present 600,000 registered voter's signatures to Cali's Secretary of State in order to get the initiative on the June 2006 ballot.
Addressing his adoring followers at the state Capitol yesterday, Thomason took the opportunity to paint the pro-gay set in a negative light, saying, "The bad guys here are the judges and the politicians." To which we respond: hold it right there big guy - Every childhood tale, nursery rhyme, cartoon, etc., would say that those who support equality and happiness for all would earn the "good guy" classification. You, my friend, are working on a measure that would do nothing more than encourage discrimination and hate towards a minority sect of the population. If you want to see this as a "battle," which seems to always be the tendency of you guys, what with your "protect marraige" and "marriage is under attack" rhetoric, then I'm afraid you would be sharing a headquarters with the likes of Gargamel and Skeletor.
Mr. T, we don't think you're evil, per se, but your campaign of persecution will never be classified as "good."
