Oregon civil unions advance civilly
An Oregon Senate panel has passed a bill that would allow civil unions in the Beaver State. The bill next goes to the full Democratic-controlled Senate where it is expected to easily pass, and then to the Republican-controlled House where it is expected to make a few of them slightly uncomfortable.
If the measure successfully makes its way through the process, Oregon will become the third U.S. state to allow civil unions, while remaining the only one whose flag proudly features a double entendre-prone mammal.
