Oregon gay-friendly bills merged into virtual queer-loving powerhouse
In the Oregon Senate, two separate measures that would jointly allow civil unions and outlaw discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation have been combined into one super bill. This new 'Rip Taylor of legislative attempts' is said to have the support of the state's gays and equality-embracing lawmakers, as well as the discrimination-embracing "pro-family" groups who are thankful that they will now have to issue only one misleading, false-fact embracing press release in order to decry both measures.
