PA lawmaker strives to protect sanctity of Liberty Bell visitation
Pennsylvania legislator Daryl D. Metcalfe is fighting the use of state funds to promote gay tourism in Philadelphia, saying in an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer that his constituents "would object to even $1 of their tax dollars" being used to advance a gay and lesbian lifestyle.
Ironic, considering that the city's use of the 1975 hit "Philadelphia Freedom" for tourism purposes has been advancing the lifestyle of uber-gay Elton John for nearly three decades.
Once Metcalfe successfully stops the pesky gays from making their way to Philly, rumor has it that he will next work to rid the Liberty Bell of its long-held, immoral crack problem.
