Some watch fireworks, others condemn folks to hell; tomato, tom-ah-to
This weekend, while you might have been devouring hot dogs and enjoying some freedom, the folks from Westboro Baptist/God Hates Fags continued on their insatiable quest to condemn every man, woman, and toaster to an eternity spent in the fiery depths of hell. The kooky crew was in Plattsburgh, NY to denounce the city's openly gay mayor, protest a few churches, and give even Plattsburgh's most misbegotten citizens someone with whom their lives would look better in comparison.
Regarding the family's fag-hating expeditions, the AP quotes our ol' buddy Margie Phelps (pic.) as saying that "some people play golf; this is what we do." It's fitting that Marg-a-licious would make such a comparison, as the similarities between the two "sports" is obvious; both can prove tedious to watch, oftentimes feature players adorned in ridiculous outfits, and tend to thrive in locales where lesbian populations run high. Though golfers generally don't rub as batshit-crazy extremists hellbent on ridding the world of "the gay."
Next up for the fag/America/everything in the free world-haters: More pickets of soldier's funerals, Billy Graham events, and just a whole bunch o' general hate.
Next up for Plattsburgh: Diligently working to rid their fair town of that lingering Phelps stench. Pee-uw!
