'Concerned Woman's CA 'concerns' reach new heights of ludacrisy
Responding to yesterday's historic vote in favor of California gay marriage, Concerned Women For America's Robert Knight actually has the audacity to suggest that the Assembly vote was cleverly timed by Democrats to take advantage of a nation "still reeling from the horrors of Hurricane Katrina." In a gay marriage-decrying, veto-encouraging missive entitled " Arnold, It’s Time to Show Some Muscle," Knight says of the lawmakers:
"Perhaps they’re hoping that Californians are so distracted by the unfolding tragedy in New Orleans that they won’t notice their out-of-control politicians in Sacramento."
This totally ignores the facts that the process towards yesterday's vote was set in motion months ago, and that with the legislative session is in it's waning days, any sort of delay on the vote was pretty much impossible. Though considering that we're apparently to blame for Katrina's bitchy diva fit, perhaps he thinks it was the tragic storm that we timed, not the encouraging legislative action.
