Governator delivers Raw Deal with Total Recall of Batman & Robin's marriage chances
Good As You Pledge of Non-Cliched Allegiance: The following Schwarzenegger-centric post will absolutely not employ use of the phrases "girlie man," "hasta la vista, baby," or "I'll be back." Because that would be lame.
"It's not a tumor," but it is a veto from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in regards to a recently passed bill that would've allowed gay marriage in the Golden State. A spokesperson for Schwarzenegger announced Wednesday that he does in fact intend to put the kibosh on the historic nuptial-allowing legislation, citing the "will of the people" as reason for his action.
Reason for his Last Action Hero, however, is still a mystery.
In the statement concerning his veto intent, Schwarzenegger's press secretary says he does believe that "gay couples are entitled to full protection under the law and should not be discriminated against based upon their relationship." Hmm...except of course when it comes to vow exchanges, champagne toasts, yummy cake, awkward conversations with relatives you haven't seen in six years, cheesy bands, horahs, and a shit ton of free waffle irons and china pieces. That stuff is 100% hetero!
But keep the faith, Cali queers! This ball's a rollin' and it's gonna take much more than Kindergarten Cop to bring it to a halt.
