Focus on the Possible Back-Room Deals
In order to determine whether Karl Rove/other White House officials gave private assurance to James Dobson on how Supremes nominee Harriet Miers would rule if confirmed (as insinuated by Dobson himself), Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Arlen Specter has announced that he's considering having the anti-gay Focus on the Family founder testify at Miers's confirmation hearings.
Dobson is said to be so distraught over the possibility of testimony, his "focus" on the family has dissipated to a mere "casual awareness" on the kinsfolk.
