Focus on the Family protects sanctity of their moniker
Lawyers with James Dobson's ultra-conservasanctimoral "pro-family" group, Focus on the Family, have demanded that the gay-accepting Metropolitan Community Church put the kibosh on their plans to give an HIV/AIDS-focused ministry the name "Focus on the Human Family." The Dobsonites say the MCC's scheduled name was too close to FOF's trademarked moniker, and that folks could be confused by the similarities.
We, however, see little to no opportunity for confusion, as anyone injecting "humanity" into "Focus on the Family" would certainly seem to stand as FOF's polar opposite. Perhaps it's FOF who should consider a moniker change, at least until they come to a place where their "concentration on the kinsfolk" genuinely extends to all of God's creatures, not just the ones who fit their narrow "focus."
