HS cheerleader loses spirit over 'gay' jibes

by Jeremy Hooper

A male high school cheerleader has reportedly left his squad at Platte Valley High School in Weld County, Colorado, because of taunts from other classmates who have been calling him "gay." In addition to verbal teasing, the high school junior says that others have threatened to beat him up, and that when the team's picture was posted on the school's website, someone had included the words "I'M GAY" underneath the two male members of the team.

To which we say: Pick up your megaphone and get back on that squad right now, varsity friend. We know high school can be tough and kids cruel, but just be aggressive, be, be, aggressive and push 'em back, push 'em back waaaaaaay back until they give you the R, give you the E, give you the S, give you the P, give you the other E, give you the C, give you the T that you deserve. Every time an ignorant bully wins, a pom pom loses a strand.
