Report: Embargo on gay priests will extend only to those who are getting some
Going against earlier claims that all gay priests were soon to be banned from the Catholic Church, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera is reporting that the Vatican is planning to allow homo men into the priesthood IF they can prove that they have been celibate for at least three years. No word on how the priests will prove their chastity, and frankly, we really don't care to find out.
Interestingly, the paper does report that priests who "publicly manifest their sexuality" or show an "overwhelming attraction" to homosexual culture "even if it is only intellectually" will be disallowed. Though for those seminary candidates who are homo___ual, don't speak with a sibilant s, and have not read anything that Larry Kramer has ever written -- you might be deemed worthy.
