Golf club no longer under pressure from Atlanta; Baseball bat still getting some sh*t from Boston

by Jeremy Hooper

Lawyers with the city of Atlanta have halted attempts to force Druid Hills Golf Club to recognize partners of gays in the same manner that they recognize spouses of the club's hetero members. However, no lawyer will ever be able to halt us from recognizing that many of the 9-ironed duos, straight and gay, look simply RIDICULOUS in their match day outfits. But we digress.

The club has been under "FORE!" for nearly two years for violating the city's gay-bias eliminating human rights ordinance. However, in March of this year, lawmakers voted to disallow the measure from being applied to private clubs, essentially tying the hands of city lawyers.

Despite the setback, we hope the gays will continue to fight for the right to stroke on the back nine with the same benefits that their hetero counterparts enjoy. In the mean time, however, we'd like to recommend they spend a little more time taking up the grand sport of putt putt, where the windmill is guaranteed to piss you off, no matter which hole you enjoy.
