Ruling: Gay chosen person can sue bell-ringing persons
A Manhattan judge has ruled that a gay, Jewish former Salvation Army employee can proceed with a lawsuit in which he claims that his supervisor at the notoriously anti-gay policied, Christian-based organization harassed and later fired him on the basis of his "sexual orientation and religious background."
Consequently, expect the bell-ringing, "Ho, Ho, Ho"-bellowing Santas that usually man the Holiday money kettles with a fat belly and jolly disposition, to this year be replaced with fee-charging, "I object"-barking lawyers manning a stack of subpoenas with a slick nature and an eye on anyone who may help their case. It's beginning to look a lot like a nasty court battle....
