Another day, another 'pro-fam' 'Brokeback' attack

by Jeremy Hooper

The Traditional Values Coalition's Andrea Lafferty (pic.) is the latest "pro-fam" advocate to speak out against the cinematic society-wrecker known as Brokeback Mountain, saying on the group's website:

Hollywood screen writers and producers apparently think that it’s their duty to teach middle America that homosexual conduct and cross-dressing are normal behaviors that should be affirmed in our culture. They’re wrong, and we will never accept the belief that same-sex relationships or transvestism are simply normal variations of human sexuality. These behaviors reveal deep-seated psychological problems that should be treated not affirmed.

Ooh, easy lady tiger -- those are our "deep-seated psychological problem"-plagued peeps you're offensively talking about. If you don't like the film, "Gene Shalit Be Known I'm A Homophobe," then don't Fandango yourself a ticket. But let's lay off the convenient segues into attacks on the mental state of those who engage in the homo-sex, shall we? Such deep-rooted antipathy for all things queer only validates why a film like 'Brokeback' is such a positive, progressive, NECESSARY development on the entertainment landscape.

<writer kicks soap box out of the way, as to not trip readers>

Be sure to keep an eye out for future statements from Ms. Lafferty, when we hear she'll expose the dangerous "simian-friendliness" of King Kong, the pro-Cash advocacy behind Walk the Line, the geisha agenda behinds Memoirs of a Geisha, and the activist pronouns in Yours, Mine, and Ours..

Hardcore, she is.
