Besen asks AFA to yank deceptive video; we say, 'why stop there?'
"Ex-gay" debunker Wayne Besen (pic.) is reporting that the American Family Association is continuing to feature a man in their "It's Not Gay" video of "queer-converting" propaganda, despite the fact that the man, Michael Johnston, stepped down as an "ex-gay" leader in '03 amidst allegations that he's continued to have unsafe sexual dalliances with other dudes. Besen says,
"This episode suggests a stunning lack of integrity on the part of the American Family Association and utter contempt for the truth. If they have a shred of decency and morality, they will immediately stop selling the tape and apologize for their disgraceful behavior."
Relatedly, due to the fact that the AFA's aggressive agenda seems to be less focused on "family" and more concentrated on the elimination of things with which they do not agree, experience, or understand, we are requesting that they change their name to the "American Aborto-Sodo-Xmas-Porn Patrol." After all, none of the American families we know and love would ever accuse a drugstore of encouraging HIV.
