Should we push our 1989 Ford Aerostar van off a cliff?
We have learned from our cruisey friends at Jalopnik that the American Family Association has called off a gay-themed boycott of Ford Motor Company (scheduled to begin today), for reasons not completely known. What we do know is that AFA president Don Wildmon is quoted by car-focused publication Wards Auto as saying:
“We are ending the boycott of Ford,” said Donald E. Wildmon, Chairman of AFA. “While we still have a few differences with Ford, we feel that our concerns are being addressed in good faith and will continue to be addressed in the future.”
Neither side is commenting on what sort of homo-related concessions Ford had to make in order to appease the "pro-family" folks, though rumor has it that the Ford Leviticus, complete with four-wheel judgement and anti-lock dogma, will be unveiled within the week.
Ford, we beg of you: please don't sell us out. From our memories of gettin' it on in the back of a Tempo to our recollections of dry humping in the back of a 'Stang, our thoughts of you guys have always been positive. Don't sully our nostalgia, kiddos.
