Ford apparently responded to latest "pro-family" threat, failed to CC us, blah, blah, blah
Via an audio chat posted on the Concerned Women for America's website, we've learned for the first time today that executives from the Ford Motor Company have responded to the letter sent by 42 43 44 "pro-family" groups, wherein they requested that the auto giant retract the gay-supportive statement they issued on December 14. However, exactly what was said in the beleaguered auto company's retort remains a bit of a mystery, as CWA's head Concerned Woman, Robert Knight, only gives us this little insight into its contents:
"They basically said, no dice, that's how I read the letter. It says that, 'well, we've tried to work with you but, you know, we believe in diversity, blah, blah, blah...'"
"Diversity, blah, blah, blah?" This only gives further proof to our theory that everything following a tolerance-encouraging word registers to "pro-family" ears like a foreign tongue that's busily licking evil off of Satan's teet.
Be sure to keep an eye out for future recounts from Mr. Knight, when we hear he'll relay various company's positions that "equality should be for everyone, etcetera, etcetera;" "all people should be respected, and so on, and so forth;" and "discrimination is wrong, yada, yada, yada."
We'll try to find you a blah-less version of the letter as the day progresses; however, it is Friday and we have things to do, martinis to consume, yibbady, yabbidy, schmabbidy...
