6/05/06 : A Day That Will Live In Insolence

by Jeremy Hooper

Readying the gays for the blue state/ red state match of political football that will play out at the polls this fall, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (pic.) announced today that he will bring the so-called "Marriage Protection Amendment" up for a Senate vote on June 5.

In a related story, we plan to rip a NASTY, NASTY, and we do mean N-A-S-T-Y fart on that day.

No word on which will benefit society more; however, considering that everyone knows the amendment will fail and that our dog takes great delight in sniffing our flatulence, we'd be willing to guess that the existence of our putrid gas will do far more for the greater good than will this offensively duplicitous attempt at writing inequality into our nation's most precious document.

SENATE TO VOTE ON SO-CALLED ‘MARRIAGE PROTECTION AMENDMENT’ PRIOR TO FALL ELECTIONS [HRC Press Release]

*UPDATE: Some reports say the discussions will just begin on the 5th, and that the actual vote will be held on the following day, 6-6-06. Hmm, 6-6-6...it would seem an apropos date, that.
