'Cruci-fixins' has AFA resurrectin' NBC antipathy
Claiming that Britney Spears will "mock the crucifixion of Jesus" in her upcoming turn "as a conservative Christian who contributes a cooking segment called “cruci-fixins” on an episode of "Will & Grace," the American Family Ass. has fired off an angry missive demanding that NBC pull the planned segment from the future airing. This threat comes on the heels of their recent attacks on NBC's "Book of Daniel," which they also felt was mocking Christianity in its portrayal of an unconventional priest with a colorful family.
If successful with this latest campaign, we hear that the AFA will next just cut out the middle man and attack the concept of satire in general, hoping to replace it with a literary device to which their own actuality doesn't so easily lend itself.
Pressure Builds Against NBC To Pull “Will and Grace” Episode “Cruci-fixins” [AFA]
***UPDATE, FROM NBC:
Some erroneous information was mistakenly included in a press release describing an upcoming episode of "Will & Grace" which, in fact, has yet to be written.
The reference to "Cruci-fxins" will not be in the show and the storyline will not contain a Christian characterization at all.
We value our viewers and sincerely regret if this misinformation has offended them.
