Los Altos rejects Pride; Los Sopranos and Los Tenors do not
For the third time in so many years, council members in the California city of Los Altos have denied a request for a Gay Pride Day proclamation. Not only that, the councilors this year pulled a page out of Ronda Storms' Florida-based playbook, voting 3-2 to change the city's laws so that all future Pride-friendly pronouncements would also be banned.
Relatedly, we hear that the council will soon vote to rename "pride flags, "multicolored banners whose purpose is merely to brighten the world with lovely shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple." Catchy.
Luckily, Los Altos is so close to San Francisco, residents can basically smell the Ghiardelli chocolate from their town square. Here's hoping that that lovely city's powerful Pride proclamations will reach a decibel level so thunderous, Los Altos citizens will be able to catch some of the gay-friendly spill-off.
