FOF blankets another state with ads; blankets infested with duplicity

by Jeremy Hooper

Rehashing the ridiculous "Iraqis have the Right to Vote. Why Don't [insert name for state residents]?" concept they used last week in Iowa, Focus on the Family yesterday placed anti-gay marriage ads in twenty Minnesota newspapers, wherein they asked locals to contact state Sens. Dean Johnson and Don Betzold, who FOF accuses of "attempting to silence the majority of Minnesotans who want to vote on marriage by blocking a vote in the Senate." In the ads, FOF gets all kinds of fearmongery, warning of the threat Canada's same-sex marriage legalization and a lawsuit challenging Iowa's marriage laws poses to the good citizens of Minnesota, before getting uber-anxiety-inducing with the conclusive statement: "Minnesotans deserve the chance to protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman before judicial tyrants or backroom deal making in our state legislature force-feed you and your family a radical agenda."

TRANSLATION, "pro-family" to English: "If Minnesotans don't ban gay marriage now, a judge or state legislature may realize the constitution and the notions of fairness and equality support same-sex nups and precede to legalize them, a concept on which your family can dine in the way they see fit."

For those truth-enjoying folks who'd like to read the full ad copy, we've taken the liberty of force-feeding it through our radical bullsh*t detector, which will handily remove any words and phrases it finds to be too far-fetched, misleading, or filled with rhetoric. Enjoy:
