Idaho activists get sticky; we just get bizarre and start running off at the mouth about video games

by Jeremy Hooper

Activists in the Boise area reportedly took to the streets Monday to protest the legislature's approval of a proposed amendment banning same-sex marriage, by placing stickers reading "HETEROSEXUALS ONLY" on various public drinking fountains, benches, etc. The stickers were meant to evoke imagery from past historical black marks of blatant discrimination, when many public places and things were oftentimes labeled "Whites/Colored Only."

Inspired by their tactic, we plan to cover all of Manhattan with manipulated "I Heart Pac-Man" stickers, which will now read "I Heart A Man." These are meant to conjure up memories of the oppressive early 80's, when we gay guys were free to show our undying love for a yellow dot-eater, yet not always free to publicly express our affection for the non-pixelated actual man with whom we shared our lives. It is with these stickers that we'll hope to convince the real-life Inky, Binky, Pinky and Clydes who are chasing us around a maze of discrimination, that we shouldn't have to inject "P-C" into our same-sex love testaments in order to make them acceptable.

Hopefully these will be much more effective than our past attempts to pass a civil rights message via video games:
