Singer on Superman: Kryptonite makes him weak, boobs stiffen him up
Superman Returns director Bryan Singer has responded to all of the buzz and speculation about the Man of Steel's sexuality, saying that the blue-tighted superhero in his film "is probably the most heterosexual character in any movie I've ever made."
Among Singer's most notable past film projects:
So, Wolverine, Jean Grey, and all of the Usual Suspects: all gayer than Superman. You heard it here first, folks.
Among Singer's upcoming flicks is The Mayor of Castro Street, the long-awaited biopic of slain gay rights activist Harvey Milk. Look for the future PR for that particular film, wherein we hear red state-fearing studio heads will pressure Singer to declare his Milk to be "a raging p*ssyhound."
Even post-Brokeback, it seems gay box office butterflies still flutter.
Superman Returns opens June 28; the title character has reportedly already scheduled his pre-premiere facial and mani/pedi, as well as coordinated his cape and boots.
Faster than bullets, yes. But Superman, gay? No way [Reuters]
