Another researcher, another Focus on the Family condemnation
At a kick-off for Soulforce's 1000 Watt March today in Denver, NYU professor and prominent researcher Dr. Judith Stacey (pic.) said that Focus on the Family has purposefully distorted her work to make it seem as if gays and lesbians are bad parents. And in a statement given prior to today's event, Stacey said:
"I am deeply troubled by the ways in which Focus on the Family willfully misrepresents my research on lesbian and gay parenthood to support their ideological opposition to homosexuality. This politically motivated distortion of social science contributes to serious harm to lesbian and gay parents and their children."
So far, FOF doesn't seem to have responded to Stacey's condemnation, just like they never responded to Dr. Robert Spitzer's calling them out on their bullshit last month. We guess that when you live on a self-made pedestal of moral superiority, you can't be bothered to dignify the rational comments of those of us who live here, grounded on Earth.
We do, however, hear Focus has a huge problem with the doctor's "Judith" & "Stacey" living together in a name.
