Haggard said to be..well, a little haggard
Providing an update on disgraced pastor Ted Haggard, Pastor Mike Ware of New Life Church (who is assisting in Haggard's "restoration") tells WORLD magazine that "[Haggard's] state of mind is like anyone who's just lost everything they had. There are moments of extreme shame and depression but then little rays of hope."
To which we respond: "Little rays of hope? So he's occasionally triumphing over the extreme gay shame that his 'restoration' is surely trying to further ingrain in him? Good for Mr. Haggard!"
But wait, what's that you say? Those who are trying to "fix" Rev. Haggard wouldn't consider one's resisting of gay shame to be a good thing? In fact, they're likely to place the fact that he had gay relations in the same negative category as the fact that he bought/used meth and had the aforementioned relations extra-maritally with an escort?
Oh.
Well in the case, we'll remain hopeful that in Ware's next update, it won't be what he perceives to be Haggard's "little rays of hope" that he feels are worth a mention, but rather Haggard's miraculous realization that "little gay Ray & Ray are happy and deserve respect" that he feels is eye-opening and logical. It's of course unlikely that this sort of homo-themed about-face will ever take place; but aren't all things possible through prayer?
