'Agape': Only NYC gays know the joy of 'Noah's Arc'
Okay, so we all get a little lazy during the period between Xmas and New Years. However, the mistake in this 12/29 blurb from Agape Press is just ridiculous:
...A renewal deal between Time Warner Cable and Viacom will include expansion of cities showing Viacom's LOGO, a network targeting homosexual viewers. The president of an organization that monitors the influence of homosexuality in the culture, and the head of another that observes cultural trends in media, both say it is really just a natural development of what is already being done on other cable and satellite channels. Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth says it is significant -- but not surprising -- that the all-homosexual channel LOGO is expanding outside of New York City, its only availability location on cable thus far.
Only available on cable in New York City?!? Uhm, try Logo is actually available in 25 million cable and satellite homes, including the top 25 markets. Even when you factor in Agape Press' usual penchant for pulling data out of their arse, it's still hard to imagine where they got the memo that Logo is only available on cable systems in the five boroughs. Perhaps in the same place they got the notion that they are "pro-family" and not anti-gay, "pro-marriage" and not anti-same-sex marriage, or "moral" and not biased.
Moving on, Agape then goes on on to decry Logo's agenda, perceived liberal values, goal to "break down societal norms in favor of new definitions of family and morality," and basically the totality of their broadcast existence. Though now that the network will be moving out of its "sole televised home" of NYC, perhaps these "pro-family" folks can actually watch the channel to get a more accurate impression. Somehow we doubt it.
