Logo gets sketchier this April
The Logo network has announced a premiere date for its Rosie O'Donell-produced comedy series "The Big Gay Sketch Show," with the first of the six episodes set to bow on Tuesday, April 24 @ 10PM.
The hope is of course that what "In Living Color" did for the African-American community, this show can do the same for the LGBT one. Our less ambitious hope, however, is that what far too many gay comedies have done for the "likes to genuinely laugh" community, "Big Gay Sketch" will do the opposite.
But we have faith in ya, "Big Gays"! Don't ruin our spring.

I WATCH LOGO ON CHARTER CABLE QUITE A BIT, BUT MOST OF THE TIME I HAVE TO SHAKE MY HEAD DURING "THE BIG GAY SKETCH SHOW." WHILE ITS TRUE THAT COMEDY IS SUBJECTIVE, THE SKETCHES HERE ARE ABOUT AS FUNNY AS MUCH OF THE MORE RECENT INCARNATIONS OF "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE." THAT IS TO SAY, THEY ARE NOT VERY FUNNY AND FREQUENTLY DOWNRIGHT DUMB. I HOPE THEY CONTINUE TO STRIVE FOR REAL COMEDY AND GET IT RIGHT MORE OFTEN.
