'Mele ka-civil union' is the Hawaiian way, to say marry Chris/Chris, 'I do'

by Jeremy Hooper

HiDemocrats in Hawaii have introduced legislation that would, if passed, allow for gay couples to enter into civil unions. News to which we reply:

"Hmm...civil unions? Not marriage? So another "separate but equal" situation?... ... ... Tell you what -- throw in a two week, all-expenses-paid honeymoon "post civil union excursion" at one of the Big Island's finest resorts, and we'll consider your offer.

Oh, and all of our drinks --
we want them served in a coconut with a parasol, no ifs, ands, or non-sterotypical glasses!"

Sounds reasonable to us.

We'll have to wait and see if the Aloha State legislature accepts our terms. If not, we're willing to consider pineapples instead of coconuts.
