State of Sunshine gets ray of gay rights hope

Florida state senator Ted Deutch and representative Kelly Skidmore (pic, from l.) have introduced legislation that would bar discrimination against gays and lesbians in the sectors of employment, housing, and public accommodations.
::sniff, sniff:: Is it just us, or is the lingering biased stench left by Anita Bryant's antics starting to lessen? ::sniff, sniff:: Yes, we so believe so. So congrats, Florida gays -- legislation such as this would seem to indicate that more and more Floridians are waking up from the long regional anti-gay nightmare brought about by Ms. Bryant's 70's era lulla-"bis, gays, and lezzies are evil."
It remains to be seen if the bill will advance through the legislature and become the law of the pan-handled land. For the sake Emmie who likes to kiss Emmy in Kissimmee, our fingers are crossed!
