Why is 'the passion of the Crist' no longer a gay marriage ban?
So why did Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (pic.) today "come out" against the GOP backing a new anti-gay marriage initiative? Well, Andy has a few thoughts over at Towleroad:
Florida Gov. Charlie Crist Against Funding Gay Marriage Opponents [Towleroad]
Our own thought? He realized there is no "h" between the "C" and "r" in his name, and therefore realized that imposing morality-based ideas on the public is not his role to play.
Obviously.

Crist has always set off my gaydar.

Well, he should set off your gaydar. It is no secret of anyone living south of I-4 that Crist is a big flamer. I even know of someone who has been "with" him on a boat and not only is he gay he is a bit kinky.

Saw you on a public tv program tonight and wanted to send you a quick note.
I have been a committed Christian for 31 years and have what I believe is a God given compassion for homosexuals. I believe any sexual relationship other then that between a man and a woman in marriage is condemned by the Bible. However, having been involved in a promiscuos life style before marriage and before becoming a christian I have no room to judge others. One of my best friends is gay, and my desire is to demonstrate true chirstian compassion and love to him and in so doing encourage him to seek to have a personal relationship with Christ as well. Once in that relationship it will be Christ's place to speak to him about his sexuality.
My prayer is that you and those you love will come to know the love of Christ and experience the peace and joy only He can give.

Ronald, I appreciate your civility. However, I take great exception with your assertion that I and those who love me DON'T know "know the love of Christ," or that our spirituality is one in which we believe Christ to be the savior.
The belief, non-belief, or agnosticism of my family members and myself was a non-topic in the PBS piece. This writer deliberately does not discuss his spirituality because it is personal. It is a bit offensive to assume that a lack of evangelizing of my part implies a lack of faith, or that gay is somehow the oil to Christianity's water!
