Well that didn't take long...

by Jeremy Hooper

On the first day at their very first stop (Iowa's Dordt College), the Soulforce Equality's Ride's bus was vandalized with anti-gay slurs while the young gay activists slept in their hotel rooms:

Because nothing says "I oppose you, yet don't have the moral fortitude to say it your face" like writing slurs on a bus while your opposition sleeps. What next, local 'mo foes -- gonna steal their clothes and deface them while the Riders shower?

Disgusting. Cowadly. Immoral.

And for an idea of what the perp(s) look like, just imagine an extremist with an absence where their spine should be.

Your thoughts

Disgusting and cowardly ... I agree!

I hope that you will not judge the residents of this town, the students in this college, Christians across the face of the earth by one person's act of hate. I hope the kindnesses of the day will be noted on this site also.

I would never judge anyone on the basis of an extremist's actions

The problem is that this isn't one, isolated incident, thus the reason for the bus.

Has anything positive happened today with regard to the ride? I know they are there, officially, from today through tomorrow. I have so much respect for these riders.

I wonder if it really is the job of the resident blogger to point everything out, or if it is just his job to point out what most grabs his attention?
