Former insider again shocked by view from outside
Joe Murray, the former American Family Association staffer who now has carved out a sort of cottage industry for himself by denouncing his former cronies' methods, has written a new piece in which he, among other things, decries the way our opposition has used the VA Tech massacre to denounce hate crimes protections for LGBT folks. We still may not agree with him politically on many issues, but his unapologetic expressions of contempt for the practices of the nation's largest "pro-family" groups (one of which he was part), is quite encouraging. For every employee of these organizations who is churning out fanatical press releases without an ounce of remorse, there are surely a dozen other Joe Murray's who are less-than-sure that their employers are really acting like the moral "good guys." Here's hoping as FRC, TVC, CWA, AFA, FOF, and the lot ratchet up their campaigns of duplicity, the dissenters in their ranks will rise to the surface!
