Video: Wasted away again in Sodom&GomorrahVille, searching for my lost pillar of salt
Oh. My. God. Or we guess we should say "Oh. Their. God," as denying gays' connection to a holy spirit would seem to be the message our socio-politic-religo opposition is hellbent on sending:
Not to spoil the ending for you, but we have a strong suspicion that the film doesn't culminate in a gay wedding set to the tune of Ultra Nate's "Free." That's because in the movie that exists in the mind of those who oppose us, we are simply not fit to play the role of "Happy, well-adjusted gay human," only that of "Tortured/diseased shell of a being." Sad.
We can't find any distribution info, so we don't know when and where you can see the full flick. However, we've decided to just go ahead and give it a "thumbs down," as we figure that since they've gone ahead and judged us as humans, we have every right to do the same to their cinematic masterpiece.

Your thoughts
I don't like the feeling I got from watching this trailer. I got this same feeling when I saw the trailer for the Passion of the Christ (which I may add, I still haven't seen and it will stay that way). I agree with you, Jeremy. It feels too much like a weapon that the socio-politic-religo opposition would use than an actual movie. My final review is a good thumbs and toes down.

Bad acting but should I have expected anything more? The whole godtube thing is pretty funny though. I want to start up atheisttube.

Well, if my wife was that awful and my kids that bigoted, I'd force myself to turn gay and run away. He's clearly doing the right thing! The boyfriend is adorable, especially in his bathing suit.
Also, and maybe this is just me, but most of the scenes where he's being "gay," look relaxed and happy, while the scene with his family and at church seem violent and hateful and depressing. I doubt that was deliberate. But you can't expect too much artistic or narrative coherence from people who spend all of their time reading Leviticus.

I only watched the first minute or so of the trailer (your blog reloads itself on my computer automatically far too often to watch clips - and I don't particularly want to visit Godtube), but I think a minute was enough...
The tiny bit I saw only reinforced my opinion that society should NEVER be so harsh on gay men that they marry a woman and hurt both her and any children they might have... Yes, alright, in this case both the wife and kids seemed like right bigoted brats - but having the one you love cheat on you is harsh anyway, and it's almost inevitable if you're forcing a man to live a lie.
(Same goes for women, but it's far less documented. If I'd been forced to marry a man, I have no doubt I would have hurt him every bit as much.)
The video makers don't seem to realise that the best way to prevent hurtful situations like this is NOT to demonise gay men - saying that being gay is wrong is what put them all in that situation in the first place! The best way to stop people hurting others in that way is to support them when they're young - help them find a relationship that doesn't give them "demons" of doubt, and (even younger) teach them that sexual morality is exactly the same whichever way you swing.
That way Mrs Religious Mum ends up with a straight husband she's sure of - because he'd have no reason to pretend to be straight if he wasn't.

Anon: Sorry about the refresh. Our coding is set so that it only reloads ever 20 minutes. Not sure why yours is refreshing faster than that.
Good thoughts on the vid though.

If you think it is a good one,
please help to promote it in whatever other fora you frequent.
We should not have to sit idly by, while this juvenile drivel is spouted as truth.
