Video: Gay man eating own

by Jeremy Hooper

He just so gets it, this "accepting" boi (language possibly NSFW):

Look dude, we understand what you're trying to say. Sort of. But come the f**k on, princess! "You have a serious problem" with certain types of dramatic, snobby, "faggy," "flaming" gays?! [::writer throws hands to face in the most dramatic of fashions::] OH MY GOD, you've taken crude stereotype-based demonization to a whole new level! Not cool, brotha gal.

And yes, whether you're gay or not, these words are indeed offensive to many!

Oh, and for the record: It's [pleth-er-uh].

Your thoughts

She is sooooo fat and so not fantabulous like me.

Wow I must have hit you guys pretty close to the mark to get you all riled up like that. Thank you and Franc for proving my point.

Oh that's cute, RobFSUMCC. But speaking only for this writer, my affected manner of speaking was merely for effect. However, unlike your video seems to indicate about you, this gay man accepts and embraces all of the varied individuals who make up the spectrum of LGBT life. So if you want to assume I'm effeminate and overly exuberant -- then by all means, be my guest.

Your video caught our attention solely because it was a form of demonization directed towards the gay community (which is what we tackle). It's all the more disheartening when that (with words like "faggot" and "flamer") come from members of our own community.

You guys just dont get it do you. I said in the tape that being effeminate isnt bad and there is a difference between being effeminate and faggy. I don't have a problem if someone is feminine in some levels. Some of my very good friends are some of the most effeminate people I've ever known. I'm okay with them. What I'm not okay with I named in the video. People who are shallow, obnoxious and overly dramatic, plus those who do those things because its how gay people should act. I mean come on do you really want the world to define gay people as shallow and obnoxious or people that want to get in everyones pants? I know I don't that was my big problem coming out as a kid. everyone that gay people were crazy about sex and I had to show them that we aren't all like that. As a said in the video, these stereotypes that some gay people conform to because "Thats what gays should do" create even more ignorance in our society and it needs to be stopped. Thats the end of my response unless you or anyone else has anything they would like to add.

Rob: Everyone "gets" what you were trying to say. The problem lies in the way you said it and the crude stereotypes that you are actually propagating in your attempts to decry them.

I would just encourage you in the future to maybe choose your words a little more carefully. Or don't, whatever.

Rob,

I was kidding. Almost all of my postings here have a tongue-in-cheek tone about them. If you even bother to read any other than the one about you, you would know that.

He's absolutely right, you know. If you want to know how shallow gay men are, hang out with heterosexuals. You'd be amazed how many heterosexuals there are who have identities that extend beyond their sexuality. Some heterosexuals even have interests that may seem unimaginable to gay people, things like sobriety, reading about non sexual things, watching TV for non sexual reasons, going to see movies for the plot and not sex. Hell, I once knew a heterosexual who painted a picture of something that didn't have anything to do with sex, drugs, or fashion. I know, I know, it sounds impossible, but there you have it. Of course, there ARE lots of heterosexuals who are just as shallow as gay people, you usually find the men being drooled over by gay men who wish they were shallow AND gay instead of just shallow. The rest of heterodom falls completely beneath the gaydar, as it lacks the ability to detect a personality not defined by pop music and lip gloss with glitter in it.

It's ironic and sad that you only find diversity amongst the breeders these days. Walt Whitman may have been the last gay person to live who had a thought that wasn't an expression of love for his own penis.

To be absolutely fair though, there is an aspect of gay culture that isn't your usual embodiment of the worship of Legally Blonde. These strange homosexuals do the things that straight people with personalities do, and sometimes they even do them in a gay way. This strange offshoot of vapid gay culture goes by many names, but the most common is "lesbian."

Wow, Bro B -- thanks for schooling us in the ways of heterosexuals, something we in this sex-obsessed, ghettoized gay monolith could never possibly understand. Wise words, my friend. Honestly.
