Foes drive traffic to Pride, while surely hoping for crash

by Jeremy Hooper

So if you're someone who runs a blog or website, you know that it's all about getting links. You want others to take notice of your work or item up for promotion, and you need the help of your friend and allies to get the word out. Visitors to your stop on the Information SuperHighway are what you crave, and links are the vehicles that get them there.

Well mazel tov, Boston Pride, for we're pleased to tell you that the folks at MassResistance have today linked to your calendar of upcoming events! The link, prominently displayed on the main page of their site, looks like this:

Nice of them, right? Should drive a few kids toward the festivities!

But you know, let's zoom out of the image and see what sort of write up they gave to the Pride event. We're sure MassResistance only wants to lure in potential attendees, so as to make this year's Pride fest the best one ever; but let's just make sure:

WHAT THE BATSH*T NUTTY?!? You mean to tell us that they are no at all allies of the Pride fest, but rather staunch foes who linked out of malice?! Why that's enough to make the Internet's Founding Father want to shoot An Inconvenient Truth II: Spiteful Linkage!

But hey, they say there's no such thing as bad press, Boston Pride. So just take the link for what it is -- a free traffic source.

And seriously, considering these are the sorts of people who put words like "parade" and "celebration" in quotation marks (as if they are alleged), we have a hard time believing many are going to be persuaded by their "words" to see you kids as the true town embarrassment!
