'One News Now' hands us new source for material
Boldly going where few "pro-family" publications have gone before, the American Family Association's extremely gay-unfriendly One News Now site (formerly Agape Press) is now allowing readers to make comments on their stories. Here now, a sample:
On the possibility that gays could ever be allowed to serve openly in the Boys Scouts:
-Allowing sodomites to be scout leaders isn't just some non-discrimination issue. How many children have already been victimized even in well-meaning Christian organizations like BSA by closet sodomites? Unfortunately, if the scouts allow open perversion to infiltrate the organization it will literally destroy it. No parent in his or her right mind would offer a child as sacrifice to the abuse he or she would receive from a sodomite. They're just going to have to find another meeting place and so retain their integrity. Today's lesson, children: "Life isn't fair, but you must do right anyway."
On domestic partner benefits for gay employees:
-What's wrong with it is the lifestyle of a moral perversion. What's wrong with it is that the lifestyle is rampant with AIDS which will bankrupt the health care system. And what is wrong with it is the national average of a homosexual having 100 "partners" in his lifetime. Each, presumably, now entitled to palimony, court ordered health care once the "relationship" breaks up, and a legal tangle over property rights, who gets the adopted kids, forcing other States to recognize their status, etc. And, lastly, it's just a stepping stone to legislate an unhealthy, perverted, onorous lifestyle as "respectable".
On Hillary's gay marriage/DOMA stances (three separate comments):
-The truth is, homosexual marriage or civil unions is reprehensible. God said it, not me. But when I see people who are gay, it seems they are hurting, their families are hurting, & God says they will never see the kingdom of heaven. so there is no way I will endorse homosexuality or turn a blind eye when the liberals try to pass laws that prevent us from being outspoken about the subject, or try to make laws that allow them to teach my kids at school that it's just another OK way to behave. I don't hate gay people, but i am tired of them forcing their agenda on us who don't agree with it. also, we need to make it clear, that being a homosexual is a learned behavior, & a choice. it's not like your hair, eye or skin color. Trust me, if there was a gay gene CNN would be reporting in 24/7 forever. Hillary is a flip flopper who will say anything to please her political base to snag the democratic nomination for 2008.
-I believe that "same-sex" marriage is a sin against nature as well as a sin in God's eyes. God created man and woman to live in marriage to create new life, to raise the next generation of God loving people. He created male and female in all mammals to create new life. If we could reproduce our earth three times, place all of the homosexual male couples on one, all the homosexual female couples on the second, and an equal number of heterosexual couples on the third, which planet would people survive on the longest. Which planet would there still be people on in 100 years? I don't know of any other mammal that has homosexual relationships.
God Bless our Military Troops and keep them safe.
-Gosh, I hate this issue. I am in love with a goat. Nanny and I want to get married. We do not want a "farm union". I know how I feel, and I can tell by the look in her eyes, she wants to marry me. It's not about money or government protections, it's about true love. If only the government would understand...
Well, we certainly applaud the site for allowing for comments and therefore discourse (truly a big step for this movement). Let's just hope that over time, we will start to see more and more reasoned presentations of gay truth, and less "gay marriage = goat f***ing" kinds of views.
We know we'll head over and represent our team; we hope you will too!
Your thoughts
Well they say a site is known by its readers. And considering the amount of hateful bile that the readers had to share...

Something tells me that since they moderate comments before posting that little of the "truth" will ever be heard in those discussions.

The thing is, Patrick, if that's the case, then that gives us even more reason to post over there (and screencap every step of the process). If they are found to be withholding non-inflammatory pro-gay comments, then it will only make them look worse!

Well, I've always declined to argue with stupid people (such as those whose commentary is quoted above) on the grounds that, from a distance, it's hard to tell which is which. So thanks, but I'll forego the honour.
But you... well, you must be a sucker for punishment...

O.o
My initial reaction is "ew, no." But on the other hand, it is very rare for a site like that to allow comments, and if we don't talk to the other side, we can't blame them for not hearing.
So I'm heading over too. You want those screencaptions, Jeremy?

Hi there. I came across One News Now the other day and tried to post a comment, but it seems it didn't pass. It didn't even go against their "regulations," it just presented statistics; statistics that I suppose made them uncomfortable and feel silly...

Well I am a Christian, and you all are gay I assume, I'll have a coffee and donut with you or even invite you over for turkey dinner, but there is no way in heck I will ever accept your lifestyle as anything else but sinful and deviant... and stay away from my kids!

...When I was a drunk no one ever gave me any sympathy... that helped me stop drinking more than someone feeling sorry for me. I am sobre now, and I see the light.

What the Heck: No turkey, here. I'm a vegetarian.
Oh, and I could not give a gnat's fart less whether or not you "accept my lifestyle." But you *will* keep your opinions out of my civil existence as part of the American citizenship. That's a promise!
